Education: Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, Madison

Research Interests: Lori Smolin's research background is in the area of amino acid metabolism, but for the last 15 years she has devotes herself to teaching and writing at the undergraduate level. She currently teaches both in the Department of Nutritional Science and in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology. Courses she has taught include introductory nutrition, lifecycle nutrition, food preparation, nutritional biochemistry, general biochemistry, and introductory biology. She is the author of a number of nutrition textbooks.
